This failure is called Tcpip.sys and it can be annoying when you don’t know what to do.
In this article, I’m going to show you how to fix the tcpip error and why it occurs so that you’ll know what to do next time.
Why is the tcpip.sys Error on Windows 10, 8 and 7?
This is a security feature released by Windows a few years back.
When you see this blue screen on your PC, it usually means that the driver on your PC is faulty.
When the SYS files gets damaged, you can also see the blue screen of death.
This file is a component of the TCP/IP which are a set of rules that governs the connection of computer systems to the Internet.
Reset the TCP/IP
As I mentioned above, the BSOD message on your PC is caused by a faulty driver.
This faulty driver can be fixed with a quick restart.
To reset the TCP/IP to fix tcpip.sys failure:
- Click the Windows key + R to open Run
- Type in cmd.exe to open Command Prompt as admin
- Paste the following line and click enter key after pasting
Restart your computer to verify the changes.
When you restart your PC again, you shouldn’t be able to see the blue screen.
Hard Reset PC
The next thing you need to do if the step above didn’t work is to hard reset and troubleshoot your PC.
When you troubleshoot your PC, Windows tries to fix it by doing its own detective work.
To troubleshoot PC:

- Hold down Shift key and click on Restart

Update Network Card Drivers
If there was nothing wrong with your network driver, it may just have been out of date.

If an update is found, you’ll need to install it.
After it’s installed, restart your PC.
