To start the conversation again, simply ask a new question. Question: Q: upgrade iMac OS X 10.8.5 to 10.9 or higher. My iMac is currently showing OS X 10.8.5 and if I want to install the latest version of Photoshop or Lightroom, the software requirement is iMac OS X 10.9 or higher. Downloading and installing OS X 10.9 Mavericks for free. If you have Snow Leopard, Lion, or Mountain Lion installed (10.6, 10.7, 10.8), upgrading to 10.9 Mavericks is as simple as heading to the Mac App Store, clicking the huge OS X Mavericks banner, and clicking “Install.” It will download the update (which is around 5GB). Mar 05, 2017 I am trying to upgrade from 10.8.5 to 10.9.0 so I can back up my iPhone on my Mac book pro! It will only let me use 10.9.0 and rejects any version beyond that. Connor find a straight version of 10.9.0 with out some.x that will not load.
What we know about 10.9.5 so far. OS X Build 13F34; 13.4.0 Darwin kernel; Updated Intel, NVIDIA, and AMD graphics drivers. If you use patched or modified drivers, you will need to re-apply changes to the updated drivers. NVIDIA Alternate Graphics Drivers have been updated for 10.9.5. This update will replace your audio drivers.
- The odd thing is 10.9 and 10.91 work fast and smooth in my 2009 Mac Pro. On my 2 month old i7 Mini 10.91 works but is too buggy (really slow startups & Mail hangs) I'm restoring 10.9 from Time machine at this very moment. 10.9 only suffered the FW issue for me but after many PRAM resets, reinstalls, permissions repairs I'm tossing in the towel.
- Apple has released OS X 10.9 Mavericks, and somewhat surprisingly it is a free upgrade for all existing OS X users. If you’re using a Mac laptop or desktop from the last five years or so, you.
Download the OS X 10.9.5 Combo Update
Be sure to back up any important data, and if possible clone your hard drive before applying the update. If you have any issues post-update, boot using UniBeast and type UseKernelCache=No.
